The human experience influenced by philosophy and psychology is the basis of my practice. We can attribute the mind’s capacity to be creative to its ability to combine and formulate something new from existing elements. This allows for making with the intention of revealing the creative mind. To reduce the pressure of creating something specific, instead witnessing and allowing the autonomous mind to do what it wants in response to what is in front of it, turns this process into a form of meditation and self-analysis; making can uncover the mind’s tendencies and autonomous patterns. The goal is to build the image to the point of no longer having ties to a specific place, subject or material, to the point of being universal.
