Through the use of paint and print-based techniques, my practice encompasses an ongoing investigation into the thresholds between urban and suburban landscapes, specifically the encroachment of reproducible high-rise architecture and infill housing into suburbia. This transitory space between urban and suburban is increasingly occupied by ‘fast fashion’ architecture, dominated by greed, cheap materials and prefabricated design at the expense of longevity. Combining surface and image, I ask the viewer to look beyond the facade of utopic living to consider the implications and the fundamentally failing nature that define these buildings.
