Addie Lee-Shaw

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drawing & Printmaking)

Recently, I have been asking myself questions about how the female body is displayed in the media, advertising and pornography. How has this changed over time? How does what we see in pornography affect our society and the exploitation of the female body?

Through a process of weaving photographs, my aim is to explore these issues and reveal how desensitised our contemporary world has become to pornographic imagery. Found imagery is inverted and woven together as a feminist exploration of gendered labour and its relationship to changing technologies.
