Forbidden World is a collection of four frame based works that have been imaged and repeated. I am interested in questioning different perceptions of freedom and control. As a consequence of the pandemic, the concept of freedom has become increasingly scrutinised. Things people used to do are currently forbidden and some people claim that freedom itself as been banned, but is this really true? My work reflects upon the concept of individual freedom and control, and the manner in which we might choose to follow or break certain rules. My collection of artworks reflects upon the contradictions that seem to exist within society. I am interested in the changes in behaviour that might occur due to a shift in perspective. Should you follow my rules or should you not? It all depends on how you might perceive them.
