I’m a photo-based artist who works in the colour darkroom to alter the course of light through three-dimensional, hand-built negatives and split-masking techniques.
I layer opaque substances, glue sediments, silicon, liquids, soda ash and limestones directly onto photographic negatives and papers, creating physical frameworks that corrode and stunt the filtration of light.
I construct prints by hand through repeating exposure times and superimposing mask layers to excavate and accumulate the density of light on each photographic print.
‘Porcelain’ explores vitrified and translucent materials, calcifying film into sites that concave and curve photographic data.
