Yixuan Wu

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting)

I am a painter who has been deeply influenced by animation and comics since childhood, as well as by memories and future dreams of obsession, longing, love, death and teen angst. I am also influenced by Peking opera and traditional Chinese culture. My grandmother introduced me to Peking opera when I was a child, and it has influenced me ever since. My painting reflects upon my childhood dreams and life, as ways of thinking about my unique cultural experiences.
